One upon a time,
there was a cute young filly, who lived in a HUGE house in Ponyville. This pony was quite timid and shy and never wanted to be out in the general pony public.
The reason she lived in such a large house all by herself was because of an unfortunate event. The house was given to her by her dear sweet grandmother, whom she loved very much. She had passed away only a few days ago, but to the poor pony, it felt like an eternity already.

It was the morning after the ponies first discovered "poison joke," and Twilight was exhausted. As she slowly crawled out of bed to get ready for the day, she peeked a glance at the clock. "OH MY GOSH!! ITS 10:30?!!" Twilight screamed as she never slept-in a day of her life. She had good reason to sleep in though. Pinkie Pie was so happy to be able to talk after the ponies swim in the liquid cure yesterday, she threw a party for Zecora, so other ponies could get to know her and so Ponyville would befriend her as one of their own.
All this yelling caused spike to turn over in his bed and groan.

All of these thoughts were rushing through her head as she opened another yellow portal on the wall in front of her.
It was that machine, the machine who told her she was nothing more than a mere test subject. A test subject: no name, no feelings, no emotions. Just another lab rat that was doomed for the slaughter.
